Hello, Everyone!
We are anticipating better/ warmer weather this weekend to allow safe travels, so I am excited to gather again at natural pHuel at 1700 B, S Main St, Farmville, VA 23901, on Sunday, 1:30-4.
The focus this month is on Community as a Source of health. I am inviting folks to share information on any programs your organization may be hosting that build/support community health & wellness. If you have a project you would like folks to be aware of/ possibly volunteer for, please let me know. If you could send me the name of the program, who is hosting it and a brief description, I can allow time for you to tell the group more details.
Allison and I will share some background on a grassroots program started in Farmville by Wendy McCaig from Embrace Communities. It is a model that uses Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) to address local concerns with local resources. I would like to use our meeting as an opportunity for a live session to personally gather feedback on what the Piedmont district is desiring to see in their healthcare network, and from individual providers.
Please join us this weekend and feel free to bring a guest. If you could RSVP to me by Saturday, we would greatly appreciate it so we can have adequate seating available.
